In this talk, I will introduce the theory of Yang-Baxter and tetrahedron maps, which are set-theoretical solutions to the Yang-Baxter and Zamolodchikov tetrahedron equation, respectively. I will explain their relationship, as well as their connections to matrix refactorization problems and discrete integrable systems. Additionally, I will briefly review some generalizations of the Yang-Baxter and Zamolodchikov tetrahedron equations.
