We explore the algebraic structure underlying Voiculescu's S-transform in operator-valued free probability. We demonstrate how its twisted factorization property gives rise to post-groups, crossed morphisms, and pre-/post-Lie algebras. This talk is based on joint work with T. Ringeard (arXiv:2402.16450).
Kurusch Ebrahimi-Fard earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Bonn, supervised by D. Kreimer and R. Flume, and holds a Maîtrise de Mathématiques from Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble, France). He has held postdoctoral positions at IHES (France), MPIM (Germany), Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain), and ICMAT (Spain), and was an associate professor at Université de Haute-Alsace (France). Since 2016, he has been with the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Awarded Juan de la Cierva and Ramón y Cajal fellowships, he has also received support from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, DAAD, and EPDI. His research bridges algebraic structures in quantum physics and free probability.
